Bad news, I'm afraid. York Guns(the Baikal agent) have had the weapon to pieces and replaced the seals - but once re-assembled it still leaked. They are now looking for a replacement to send to me. The IZH-46 has such a good reputation - I suppose there had to be one lemon out there somewhere.
In the meantime & to keep in practice, I've bought a second-hand Webley Alecto. Very accurate, and I've found it to be a much friendlier pistol, nowhere near as demanding as the IZH-46.

shame such a nice pistol what other options brand new proper 10m ssp pistols. prehaps look into getting it swapped for one.
Used to own one of these and a few people use them at the Club. It is a very good pistol that can achieve top scores in the right hands, so if on a budget it is definately worth considering.
Regards, Phil
To have problems with the Baikal is unusual. I have the 46M and it is the most accurate of all my 20 pistols and very reliable. The only pistol I would chose to take on competition against a top shooter.

Since buying my NOS IZH-46 (thanks to Phil from Bristol ) I've found it to be amazingly / stupidly good to shoot
I shot 3 consecutive cards of 94 while I was tinkering around with the adjustments! And I am seriously not that good!!
Better still, I can accurately call every bad shot as it happens.
Its subjective I know, but I've never had a less 'demanding' pistol Chuffed to bits with it, I am
I've gone the secondhand route with an FWB100.
There are some bargains at half the price of an IZH.
