No doubt due to the weather conditions (heavy rain all efternoon for the 2nd session) only five people felt brave enough to have a go at the range finding competition at Cambridge yesterday. With 15 markers set out in an open field at between 8 and 45 yards it was never going to be easy but there was a clear winner: Lloyd Grove scoring 26 out of a maximum score of 60 (score 4 for exact range, 2 for +/- 1 yard; 1 for +/- 2 yards). In achieving this score he got 3 markers spot on, 3 within +/- 1 yard and 8 within +/- 2 yards. Only one 0 and that was just 3 yards out. Wel done Lloyd. I wil not embarass the other entries but the scores were: 15,9, 6, and 0.
The ranges used were:
1 = 23
2 = 9
3 = 37
4 = 33
5 = 17
6 = 39
7 = 11
8 = 30
9 = 43
10 = 19
11 = 26
12 = 41
13 = 37
14 = 14
15 = 45

Thank you to the five brave people ... Lloyd went away with 50% of the pot ... (£2.50), not a lot but still a return of 150% on investment.

Cheers, Phil
