Its a .357 muzzle loading revolver there is no such size as a .38 this is a common mistake people make, the round your thinking off is a 38 special not a "point 38" these also measures .357 The bullets are the same for both rounds (.357) as is the case diameter its only the case length thats different, 38 special cases are shorter. So if you buy a 38 special revolver it will only fire 38s because the cylinder is the same length as a 38 round, but if you buy a .357 Magnum revolver it will shoot 38 rounds and .357 Magnum rounds because the cylinder is longer to to take the .357 Magnum round. This also works as a safety feature becase if you accidentaly put a .357 Magnum in a 38 revolver you can't close the cylinder as the round is slightly too long.
