    Umarex Browning Buck Mark

Whilst leafing through October's AGW I came across the review of this pistol, a quick search of the net lead me to a video review by Replica Airguns on You Tube. I have to say that for a RRP of £79.95 (according to AGW) this looks a fun pistol, OK so power is only 325fps or so with a 7gr pellet but accuracy looks acceptable.

Has anyone got one yet and who's selling them?, I can't find any locally.

Not yet, but it certainly looks worth a punt.

A couple of German stores had it in stock, and I know of a few forum members who buy from these on a regular basis.

I did a quick search yesterday and couldn't find one listed for sale in the UK yet.

Still, I doubt it'll be long before they make the shops.

    Kind regards,

    Phil

I remember asking around a few years ago if something just like this was available, and have always been dismayed to find nothing out there. The word 'Lightweight' on the Umarex USA website makes me think cheap plastic, but if it turns out to be good quality I'll be literally running to get one! Still, full metal would be amazing

These were on sale on the `Brocock` stand at the `Midland Game Fair`.

Why speak to them when you can just place an order online?

I have a Buckmark winging its way to me as we speak, courtesy of a firm called Versandaus Schneider

    Bit cheaper than £79.95 too

I hate the way he says "real" gun when he refers to "cartridge" gun. Airguns ARE "real" guns.

It looks like a nice, quiet springer pistol for the UBC's 10 meter / 6 yard / Optical matches. And I'm delighted to see a new springer pistol coming on to the market. The woods are already full of CO2 pistols.

    I want one too.

Yesterday I emailed Umarex to ask when the pistol would be available in the UK.

    No reply as yet.

Still no reply from Umarex so I emailed Armex re the Umarex Browning Buck Mark URX and they replied that they had just received the product last week.

They told me that because they are the wholesale company I would have to contact my nearest retailer who would contact them etc etc.

    So we shall see.

Is it me or do they look like a modded version of the old Record Model 1/2 pistol as shown below.

    http://www.record-firearms.de/en/pro...dell-lp-1.html

OK so they moved the barrel lock plunger to above the bore but that straight line cocking linkage looks very similar. The Records are still available from the German suppliers so I may give one of those ago as well.

I thought that as well as soon as I saw the photo (in the AGW article) of the open breech - the steel barrel liner (I'm guessing), o-ring breech seal and outer alloy barrel casing, design of the barrel lock (albeit moved to the top rib) and barrel pivot assembly, not between two jaws but sitting over a bar extending from the air cylinder.

    Like this:

The outward form of the gun is based on a real steel version:
    http://www.mcsportingarms.com/images...XTargetNIB.jpg
to which it is relatively faithful.
Whether the innards are based on or similar to the Record pistol, I have no idea, though I will be dismantling my URX in the next week or so (stay tuned) so we could find out.

BTW if you were thinking of ordering one of the Record pistols then the one in your link, the LP1, is a smoothbore. The LP2 looks to be the rifled version. Versandhaus have it for less than 60 euros, with the LP3 (with adjustable sights!) slightly cheaper

(edit: aaah, just saw your other thread and you knew all this, sorry)
