    Hi From Stalybridge

Just saying hello after joining , been shooting since I was a young lad ( dad brought us up with guns/dogs/ferrets ) and over the yrs had a lot of experience with shotguns/center fire/pistols.
Last air rifle we had ( Theoben Sirocco .22 ) which was p/xd against a shotgun last year , recently visited a friend who has problem with Jackdaws/Magpies/Rabbits on his land and been asked to help so decided on a PCP setup which I can also plink with quietly at home . Doing some research and favouring BSA Super 10/AA S410 Carbine or TDR or similar .

    Hello and welcome

SuperTen- A well regarded regulated rifle, no longer made (replaced by the R10).

AA S400 series are very popular mid-range unregulated guns. The TDR model is comparatively quite expensive, and gives less shots per-charge.

The regulated AA sporting model is the S510.

Another extremely popular rifle is the HW100.

    Obviously it's all very subjective...

    Good luck with your choice.

Welcome aboard Matley, I'm just up the road from you. Good luck with your search for your air rifle. Plenty to choose from, in .22 of course. There's lots of wind whipping about your location. I know from experience

Over and above the Cal issue / debate, make sure you're comfortable with the feel of the rifle when you shoulder it and that "it fits you", otherwise your off to a disadvantaged start.

Some clubs in the area. Duckingfield and a little further out Stockport and District Air Gun Club get yourself along and have some practice and set up your chosen set up when you get it. It pays off in the end.

Good luck with the rabbits and magpies.

    HI

I've owned and used several over the years and found the rapid seven to be the best. Lots of shots per fill and bomb proof. I've got a Mk1 which out shoots me everyday of the week.

    Regards oli
