I know these have a reputation for being less than perfect but im gob smacked
along this edge which is more of a rounded sharp bur, it would be helpful if i could
see a good pic of the edge how it should be.
any help would be great on this cheers

Careful cleaning up of the radius at the front of the part circled in red in the second picture can make engagement slightly smoother and quieter, but be careful not to change any angles of the actual engagement faces. Normally just the bearing parts being polished will transform the unit, as will careful slow adjustment of the second stage screw.
