Had the same with AA field on more than one occasion, retreived the woodies, however the pellet simply didnt hit a vital organ. When this happens, its not the fault of the pellet.
i have heared of people saying that pointed pellets over penetrate, but after my 3rd tin of aa hunter i have witnesed it first hand. saw a woodie up in a tree and aimed at the head only for it to hit a little lower on the chest and the bird flew off in a simi circle, only it started to fly lower as it flew on. then suddenly it just droped ot of the sky. when i checked it the pellet had entered the chest and exited out of its back. just puchased some accupell. never had this happen with them anyone else had this happen?

im not blaming the pellet just the idiot behind the gun
The first, and only time i used AA Hunters, i was finding that they were overpenetrating. I have gone back to Fields now, or at least domes, in all my other guns.
