Best advice is not to store it in a foam box unless it is wrapped up.
I am mostly using microfibre cloths on my Umarexs now.
They are not blued so they dont really need oil all over them.

I give mine a wipe down with a yellow duster with a trace of Napier gun oil on

They are stored in individual eggshell gun cases but I cover the foam with good quality yellow dusters - I dont keep them in the Umerax boxes. Like this (not a Umarex - but you get the idea)

Theres a great guide in the DIY section on UBC on lubrication by JefL - well worth a look

I think you have shares in a yellow duster company Ian.
Better return than Banks and Building Societies.
    Although what isnt these days.

I am hoping that a combination of high quality yellow dusters and collectable air pistols will function as a retirement pension

(By the way Tesco have just started stocking a 'premium' range of yellow dusters - £2.85 for a pack of 4 - worth it though as they are really good quality. Avoid the ecomony ones as they are awful)

Dry "Lint Free" cleaning cloths as sold for cleaning computers and electrical equipment are best, no loose fibres on them to stick to your pistols.

Ive never had a problem with loose fibres from good quality yellow dusters - the cheap ones are another matter

I consider that retirement post as sound investment advice Ian.
Eg I paid £85 for an SA 6 two years ago.
    Worth £150? today.
    Not to mention the fun!
Not sure about the dusters tho.

Thats what I paid for mine earlier this month

(Just ordered an aftermarket alloy CO2 shroud from the States for it)

Can understand why you are not sure about the YD's though - they are an essential component of any gentlemans pistol shooting equipment in my view
