The first week of June is next week, so this means it is Classic Carbon League time.

Please shoot your 6 cards to keep IJ happy and busy scoring them for you until next month - when the process can start all over again.

New competitors are welcome to join in as we have already seen IJ trying to find some more beads for his abacus and we all like to see him fretting away as he has lost most of his wooden balls ( and most of his marbles).

Actually IJ is not only fretting, he is whittling as well because he is having to make the wooden balls himself.

Turns out most young children are now using calculators from an early age and so it is getting harder to find spare parts for ancient abacus as they are now mostly obsolete.

Calculators are a bit advanced for IJ ( he lives in Blackburn) so the struggle gets worse for him as more competitors join the CCL series - a good reason to buy or borrow a single shot CO2 pistol I say

Question. One of the cards in a group of six that I received tonight is NOT marked on the back. Im not going to name the competitor to avoid his embarrassment.

This is probably a genuine mistake in the excitement of the competition () but what do I do? Do I only count the five signed cards and probably effect the final outcome of the competition?
Do I let the competitor shoot a sixth, signed this time, card?
Am I being too pedantic with regards to the rules of this fun competition?

    Your opinions please.

p.s. To save any confusion this is NOT the postal compt Im talking about.

There's a couple of us from Leeds who'd like to join in with this league. Can someone please send me the details for entry and we'll get it sorted? Thanks, Mick.

    Hi Ian,

Let him (or her) shoot another card with a sticker on it - no problem - we all make mistakes now and again.

JUNEs results of the C.C.L. (so far)

    John Ward. 257
    Ian Jones. 257
    Paul Wray. 250
    Steve Wilson. 242.
    Shaun Bell. 233.
    Richard Sheperd. 229
    Bob Stiles. 230
    K. McDonell. 226

So, the top four places have been decided.

Congratulations go to Paul 'Hippo' Wray for a superb 1604 points! He will be presented with the tankard which he will hold until the end of the next round. (Starting on Tues 2nd July).
Second was John Ward with 1565.
    Third was myself on 1555.
And just pipped Steve Wilson on 1547.

There is a few more scores to come in, mainly from RMTC, the biggest battle being between Mrs & Mrs Radovic! (The Man From Delmonte). This could end up as grounds for divorce.

With only a couple of (delayed through holidays) scores to come in, which may end up in a divorce but whatever their outcome they cannot effect the overall winner.

Paul 'Hippo' Wray is seen here being presented with the CCL tankard which he holds for 6 months (wont his hand get tired? ). The 4th place winner, Steve Wilson (MrFixit) is doing the presentation and, looking at the photo, he's trying to break Pauls trigger finger! He's left handed you fool!!! Either that or Steve hasn't quite got used to relaxing after his recent dose of the trots.

The new season of CCL competitions starts on the first week of July.
