What 20 cal are you using? I have a 1-10 Lothar Walther blank that I'm going to chamber in 20 Tac, in the next few weeks. It's 26" at the moment, but I think I'll take it down to 24". Please keep us updated with any developments in your load testing! Have you any plans to try the 40gn Noslers? What powder(s) have you tried? Thanks. Adrian.

What length are you having it, Alan? Just curious as it seems every thing I read, regarding length, contradicts something else?!

    Hi Adrian

Have you had your barrel chambered yet ?

Ive got a 20tac myself and after much use and reserch I would recomend you opt for a 20 practical. The main reason is the brass is a true necked down 223 and its hard to get hold of and make in 20 tac

    Cheers

    Hi Paul.

    Thanks for the advice.

It seems as if more people are now trying the 20 Prac, instead of the 20 Tac. I guess this has something to do with the availability of the Lapua/Dakota brass. I have 300 new Lapua cases, so figure that if I have to re-barrel after I've knackered them all, then "so be it". I've also already bought the 20 Tac reamer.

Out of interest what sort of 20 Tac are you shooting (action, barrel (length), load etc)?

    Adrian.

Once the brass is buggered you can form new 20 Tac from .223 using a forming die.
I made one phone call when I wanted brass & got 100 straight away.

I know Niceone off here has a forming die for the 223 brass to 20 tac. Im sure he would let someone use it if they needed to.

When he is back off his ban )
