    How Do They Make Rifle Barrels?

    Was just wondering,never seen
    anything about it.Do they roll em
    drill em.The rifeling aswell.
    I know its to detailed to go into
    so just a brief idea anyone?

    They are harvested from the species Jokius Rubbishious - or in laymans terms the Rifle Tree. Apparently this harvest is traditionally done in very early April by skilled craftsmen who have learnt the art of the harvest from their fathers and grandfathers. I believe that Panarama may well have done a program on the harvest.

    they are made on cnc machines .basically steel tubes drilled to size .then a rifling tool drawn through the barrel ,,far as i know .
    my father once made a set of shotgun barrels on his lathe many years ago ,as he couldn't get a set for the action he had .
    i remember them spinning in the lathe for ages with the bore tool going through .to get a smooth finish ..cant remember if they worked or not .
    going back about 30 years now .damn getting old

    You can get a regular barrel chromed quite reasonably these days..

    From the above links, and some quick googling, I'm suprised nobody has tried a stainless barrel choked for an airgun? Or have they?
