    Open sights competition Saturday 19th January at the Oaks POSTPONED

    This is open to all spring or pump up rifles fitted with open sights (peep sights are allowed on vintage and classic so long as they are original to the rifle)
    Five classes:
    VINTAGE-PRE 1956
    CLASSIC PRE 1986
    MODERN
    PCP
    Pistol
    Planning to be15 TARGETS FULL SIZE KILLS, MINIMUM 8 YARDS MAXIMUM 30 YARDS, NO TARGETS WILL BE OBSCURED
    To be shot standing / kneeling / prone – Max score 90 (this might always change but sizes and kills won't!)

    £2 members £5 guests / visitors
    Start at 12 noon - safety briefing at 11:50 and again at 2pm - course will close and cards must be returned by 4:30pm

    If this works and is well supported I can feel a league comming on......

    Great idea this, there should be a bit of interest in this i think!

    Exactly how old is Si's 77? I think Sir Richard might have a dodgy one also.

    I can see Splund doing a great retrofit with Tru-Glos on these.

    Its a great idea but its grown 5yds already - a lot of open sight guns were .22s which might droop a bit at 30.

    Basically brilliant though.

    3 shots at each target? thats going to create some mighty queues, even if each pair/ triplet of shooters go round 3 times.

    It has actually worked perfectly well in the past - everyone is moving at the same speed, more shooting & less walking!
