I forgot to say... recently converted an old SS trigger to 2 stage, the parts from Knibbs weren't too dear. It was for a mates gun, put an xl barrel on and dropped it into a really nice figured xl stock.
They're not really a true two stage, the trigger blade rocks on a spring to give more feel.
I'm not aware of any difference between lightning, superstar or goldstar trigger parts. They seem to have the same part No.s and Knibbs lists them as generic BSA trigger parts.
I'd suspect quality and finish of the parts may be the only difference.
I could well be wrong though.
Yep it's a true two stager, now not sure if it fits the newer trigger cages or not but the old Brum Lightning I had had this conversion done to it by SFS, I've just checked Chambers website and it seems the only bits that are different are the trigger blade the sear and a couple of springs that are needed.

Guys just to clarify, its NOT that there is anything particularly wrong with the Supersport in .177 cal or .177 in any other Springer for that matter, its simply if the question of which is nicer to shoot/tune, its simply .22 all the way. The difference is possible too subtle for the non experienced tuner to appreciate fully but its a simple fact and recognised by all the major tuning houses down the years.
It can be felt slightly and will be seen on the target too.
Thus my advice was merely to go with the .22 from the basis of it being the better potential statring point.
Incidently improvements to power have the tendancy to exasperate the problem in the .177....thus any tunes tends to get less improvement in .177 unless you know what you are doing.

It's deffinately a fact that the .22 air riffle will always be the better caliber in a springer to get the nicest firing cycle from.
I've short stroked and fully tuned including hours and hours just on the trigger sears of the tx200, one in .177 and one in .22 both in the hc form. And out of the two after shed loads of time and money spent with the equall amount of stuff done to both and the .177 set at 11.4 and the .22 set at 11.6, out of the two my .22 is in its own legue by a mile.
The .22 was my favourite by far and I made a hefty hft stock for it and used to win formal ft and hft all the time and often beat lots of the top .177 shooters along with a good few pcp shooters. The firing cycle after I had finished with it along with a small muzzle weight and the stock perfectly lead weighted for balance, will shoot with truly hardly any recoil it's hard to believe, and anyone who shoots it always asks how much I'd sell it for.
My .177 t. Is super smooth and a pleasure to shoot, with its extra short strike piston I made it and them both for that matter, but the truth is, if I had only one gun out of all mine, it would always be that awkward loopy tragectory tx200 hc in .22 which is truly a pleasure and is why I originally bought the .22 caliber in the super sport, it was just a little experiment that for once all has gone far too well and will most probably be a keeper!![]()

Cheers mate, this ss conversion has worked out great, much much better than I could have dreamed of as in things falling into place as they did. Things don't ever work out that easy for me mate, I normally work my nuts of getting a project to work the way I want. All that I would like to do now is get the barrel screwcut for a silencer and it needs to be blued, as the blueing has been removed and sprayed black.
The tx is a fantastic springer, and a true one off. Wish I could put pics up here but need a photo bucket account still, normally get a friend to put them up on here when I have something for sale. I can only email from my phone.
Thanks for all your help and advise and also everybody else too, it's been great!![]()
