Given that all manufacturers need to sell all over the world, often to markets expecting higher power, such rfiles are only going to exist by accident. The clever maker builds a rifle to be able to supply high power to other markets and gives the UK a weak spring.

There have been a couple rifles perfect for the UK, early hw77/97 and early tx200. But now the tx has a much higher power capability and even the 77/97 has an increased headroom, if only by a ftlb or so.

12ftlb optimised new rifle by AA? Not a chance in hell.
all it takes is a longer piston rod...a 50p part.

    not so hard ehh???

the question what you need to ask is why they won't do it?

The only reason I can think of is money. 99% of the UK airgun buyers dont know any better so arent creating a demand.
You know they shoot nicer and so do I, and a fair proportion of bbs users will know, along with quite a few springer target shooter but the greater part of the shooting community wont have a clue.

aye lad I think you are right...so what we need to do is stop buying rifles that are not made to suit our market and they will soon make ones that are suited.

accountants need to earn money, they need sales, no sales no need for accountants

I remember reading a story in one of the airgun mags in the 80's involving a shooter waking up in the future and shooting a recoilless rifle with coca cola bottle shaped pellets from a gun that had gyroscopic damping. How about that?

Now here is a very un-likely wish:-
Feinwerkbau to re-introduce a brand new 'Sport' model, with all of the virtues extinct model i.e. light weight, superb accuracy & consistancy and fantastic finish. With even more hi-tech innards. Maybe a piston ringed head & an incredibly short transfer port that virtually eliminates lost volume. Something that would really announce their return to the sporting air rifle market.

    Spot on G!
Add to that, butt pads that are adjustable for length of pull as well as height.

We are not all the same size, "one size does not fit all"

I'd like to see airgun manufactors uses less plastic on there products, I realise it helps to keep costs down but I think it give a 'pop gun' image!
