Talking of 'bothering', did you bother to check that the manufacturer/distributor you needed to buy from was going to be at the show and willing to sell direct?
Attending shows is incredibly expensive for any manufacturer and seriously affects production, so attendances are budgeted for and limited. Always best to check before you make the trip.

Air arms bb please
would it not make more sense to sell something at the show to get some of the costs back ?

I'd like to see more English made air guns, designed for the British market, on the British market. And, more brits trying them, rather than relying on impressions gathered years ago![]()

Seriously, do you think that hasn't occurred to those who spend thousands to be at those shows? Think about it.
Therefore, not selling direct must have strong reasoning behind it, surely? That reasoning involves not pissing-off the distributors and retailers who sell manufacturers' guns throughout the year.
If they don't sell direct, there's a valid reason. It's not that they haven't thought of it, or they'd prefer not to regain some costs.

Another vote for AA to do a new Pro Elite with bore and stroke suited to 12 ft. lbs.
Some good quality pistols instead of all these poorly made CO2 replicas.
Kind regards,
Phil
I now have so many airguns I've had to make a list, which is >>HERE<<

Manufacturers to start fitting adjustable cheekpiece risers on rifles as standard-I still cannot believe the stupidly low comb height on many rifles costing upwards of £600.00.

I don't always agree with TD, but on this he is absolutely right. The first rule in marketing that involves third parties such as distributors and retailers is, DON'T compete with your customers, ever. Your customers are the people that place orders with you and pay you. That is usually not the end user. The consumers are the market but the people who pay you are your customers.
There was a time when you could scarcely find a new Theoben on a dealer's shelf anywhere. And when the company was quite prepared to sell direct to the mass market and bypass the retailer, why should the retailer put his money into being an unpaid showroom?

BSA to make a modern Bell Target rifle ,fixed barrel underlever, shooting at 6ftlbs and super smooth to cock and fire, with the merest nudge in the shoulder.
Fitted with quality open sights or a choice of dioptres.
It could be a true centenary rifle to celebrate the re-emergance of Bell Target.
DING ,I can almost here the ring of the bell just thinking about it.

We keep asking for 12ftlb UK targeted rifles, with swept volumes etc optimal for the UK only.
Given that all manufacturers need to sell all over the world, often to markets expecting higher power, such rfiles are only going to exist by accident. The clever maker builds a rifle to be able to supply high power to other markets and gives the UK a weak spring.
There have been a couple rifles perfect for the UK, early hw77/97 and early tx200. But now the tx has a much higher power capability and even the 77/97 has an increased headroom, if only by a ftlb or so.
12ftlb optimised new rifle by AA? Not a chance in hell.
