I own one and there are no bad points. A more accurate rifle than my ev2. Lovely bit of kit.
£500 is a good price id buy it for that.

bad points, too short without the extensions on the back, not accurate enough.i had one and i now only have my s400k as it was and still is a better gun.save yourself some money and buy an s400 classic

bang for your buck ,theres no better pcp than a s400
I agree that it's a bit short but wonder how you can justify your grand statement that it's "NOT ACCURATE ENOUGH"? and the S400 is a better gun??
You are entitled to your opinion but the MPR is spot on accurate, has a heavier/stronger barrel and far superior trigger.
Just to show that i am not biased i actually think that both models are excellent guns and at the end of the day it is just down to personal preferance............ but it does wind me up when somebody asks for advice on here and then meets up with what is made to look like a definitive statement like yours. No doubt the Op is now confused and will ask more questions elsewhere!
Forgot to say its not regged it is accurate but i dont think its more accurate than a EV any day of the week but id still buy it for £500.

right just to answer,i had an mpr and tried to use it for bench rest and guess what,my s400k was better.the scores were higher.now everyone at my club who has tried the mpr for benchrest have now got a different gun as they could not get the expected results.the lady shooter who i think won the ladies comp got better results ie better scores with her s400 classic.another well known benchrest shooter at my club who had an mpr did also not get the expectd results either.so it must be just me that "thinks" the mpr is not accurate.it looks good and if you are usuing it for hft it is good enough.as for having a better trigger,i have never had any problems with any of the 6 or so 400 series rifles i have owned.if you want an accurate rifle get a ev this is the gun what everybody uses including the guy that has got 250 out of 250 with more x,s than any other.this is a definative statment not just my opinion

My MPR, EV and S400 group equally as well. The effect of a dirty barrel or being off the sweet spot makes a bigger difference, they are all really accurate in the right hands.
My MPR is set up for HFT and I really like it, had I have bought it first I probably would not have bought the EV. I find the MPR trigger better than the S400..........you pays your money etc, but all are great rifles.

Good response Zaksgod but like i said it is everybody to their own.
I don't doubt that what you have said above is true for the individuals involved but sometimes a collective like above can "make it happen". But! i'm not going down that road 'cos i think we would need laboratory conditions to prove something.
I think that both the MPR & 400 standard are both excellent proven rifles and only individuals can decide which they prefer.
Once confidence in a gun is achieved then as they say "the world is your oyster". (or some such drivel) but i think you know what i mean.
To sum up, we can only advise newcomers or those seeking advice to look around, try various models and make up their own minds. I would hate to be guilty of telling somebody that A is better than B only for them to find that A in their hands was not that good after all.
Hope that makes sense![]()
