You could give the bsa 4-16x40 contender a go at 480g it's 185g lighter than my 10x44 viper and plenty of aim points.
I use mine on my S410k .22 and I think it's a great light scope considering the features it has.

Calm down fella, as what I said was my opinion and as you state "best rets you've used" i.e. personal opinions

Following the strong defence of the ret I have just had another look and youre right it looks quite neet with little rings but I suppose its ease of use is dependant on where the rings fall in relation to the pellet drop of your set up - thars only an opinion though

The little Leup at 11" and 11oz is perfect but shitty ret.....

    The search goes on

You can use the top of a ring as an aim point, the centre of the ring , the bottom of a ring plus the gaps in between the rings. The only aim point missing is for hold under

    Quite like that ret

have no problem with no hold under can just zero at top of arc and use all hold unders

but the scopes (Monarch and Prostaff) seem relatively light/short withour parallax adjustment but with it they are relatively heavy/long

The target EFR with AO is sweet but has a plain ret

    The EDgun?: http://edgun.ru/en/cat/guns.php

I would love one of those. They are really nice

or do you mean hazza's Skan?

I'd also like to see hazza's Skan I know that'd be a tad off topic, but Skans are bullpups

The Nikons I am sure will have great optics but the Rets are awful for airgunning

The Simmons recommendation is too low mag

Your problem is clearly the fact that your gun is SO small that most decent scopes are too large and unbalance your rig. The Simmons scope is actually the prettiest and most logical to use on such a small rig as yours but as you say 5x mag isn't that large. It is a wonderful scope though. Have a look at the Bushnell Elite 2-7x32. A bit larger than the Simmons with excellent optics from the 'Elite' range. However it is only available with a simple reticle-multi X I think they call it. It looks to me that you need a quality compact 3-9x40 with a reticle that suits you and adjustable parallax.

Have you had a look at the buckmasters? They're not very long, and SF.

    See here, the 4.5-14x40: http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/a...4-06172121.jpg

    The glass is awesome too.
