Just picked up Champion WC3 shooting glasses, but will need the correct lens.
Anybody know a cheap place for these? The Bisley optician wants the best part of £50.
Kind regards,
Phil

thats the price i paid 12years ago from the same guy !
there was someone in the wirral , an optician who had an interest in shooting. cant remember his name, help from someone on here ???
they say that a pistol lens prescription is not the same as your normal prescription though,so be aware! a slight correction is needed for best results.
if you know the prescription needed then try asking your local optician to make a lens ,.

happy with my lot!
Have a word with your optician or even specsavers (who I used), they might even be ok with you taking the pistol/rifle in if asked and checking what prescription is needed, then its about £20-£35 for the lens to be made.
Specsavers allowed me to sight my pistol in the middle of their busy shop (a few funny looks from joe public), worked out what I needed and made the lens the same day £30 all in. Just make sure you get the anti reflective coating on the lens as you do need it to help keep everything clear.
I am due a review with my optician, Boots, so I could try them.
Thanks for your responses.
Kind regards,
Phil

+1 for Spec Savers... But be aware of the distance your shooting lense will be from your eye, compared with how close the lense is on normal spectacles as this distance alters the prescription. It is easy to prove this yourself - just move your specs back and forward.
The point is the 'correct' prescription from the optician will be fine for normal glasses, but may not take account of how your shooting specs fit your face. For me a glasses prescription of -1.25 becomes a shooting lense of -1.5 to get the same effect.
So - take your shooting frames with you...
What guidance have the opticians given you on the focus point for the lens, (e.g. Foresight, rear sight or somewhere in between)?
Regards, Phil
focus should be on the foresight.
