    Polygonal rifled barrels

Has any one on here had experience with the Lothar Walther polygonal barrel on a FT or HFT or benchrest air rifle?

How do they compare for accuracy with a LW button rifled standard barrel?

These barrels are available and not too expensive to buy and retrofit to a good PCP but are they any better than a conventional rifled barrel

    Hi Owen
I already have sown the seeds and if his HW barrel is not very good then he may well try one
Nick M has one but says it is very similar accuracy to his standard barrels
If they were a direct fit onto the EV2 or MPR then I would buy one but the breech will need machining and cleaning up the TP hole may be difficult

Slightly off topic but I feel relevant.

Some of the most accurate barrels produced were on PRE UMAREX Hammerli's, SO, who made them? ......GAMO! Don't quote me ask him, I THINK Hareng (Jon) on here famous for his FT conversions has used them on his own rifles too!
IF IT'S NOT BROKE.........DON'T FIX IT!

    Hi,

This HW100 has a Lothar Walther polygonic barrel. It's used succesfully for 100m matches.

    Some results.

This has been asked before on this forum, do a search on polygonal and it'll all be explained.
