    Many 1911 copies made

As gingernut said, Tanfoglio make a copy of the Colt 1911 .45 ACP as do many other companies. My 1911 in South Africa is made by Norinco (I think better than the Colt). I lifted a photo of the real steel Tanfoglio 1911 .45 off their website (see below). Tanfoglio obviously gave KWC permission to put their name on the bb copy.

    Lets take it slowly.
There is a company called Tanfoglio.
They do make a copy of the Colt called a 1911 Witness.
KWC make a model of that gun.

    Where have I gone wrong?

I am pretty sure that KWC also badge the same gun in 6mm as a
    Colt.

ok, my bad- just yahoo'd tanfoglio's site, & they do indeed make a 1911! didn't know that, as the pistol encyclopedia i have (the complete encyclopedia of pistols & revolvers by anton hartink) only lists cz75 copies under tanfoglio. so why do they complain over on the UBC forum about the TFW branding on the bb replica & keep saying it spoils the realism of the gun?

well, as far as that's concerned, i'm happy to keep the TFW branding on mine, seeing as it's authentic after all. the only concession to realism i've made is to strip & polish the barrel & ejector port. & i'd add a set of walnut grips if i could get any without having to fart about with them or the gun to fit them.

I have a beautiful pair of Walnut grips that I am about to remove from my witness if you are interested. Unmarked and will fit straight on!
