    John Bowkett wrecked my stock...

Two or three weeks ago I sent a Spitfire to JB to have it blueprinted and raised to FAC. The rifle was minty; metalwork perfect and woodwork too.
Got a call tonight from JB; he'd done the rifle and taken it out to test. During testing he'd leaned the rifle against a tree; it slipped and fell. The treebark made a "small blemish on the stock".
    So what did he do?
He replaced the stock with a brand-new one..

    The man's a modern miracle.

When I was new to precharged rifles - I took a Spitfire SF apart and got rather stuck, it just wouldn't go back together.

John Bowkett put it back together and serviced it for free, just the postage to pay. Top bloke without any doubt.

John Bowkett's pretty much a legend in the field of airguns, he was behind Titan, and a host of one-off rifles and pistols. He works as a consultant to Stalker Rifles and BSA, and designed the Super Ten, Spitfire, Hornet etc. He's also a top bloke. Not got his number to hand, but someone's bound to come along in a minute with it. Or do a search on here.

Spot on truth. I've spoken to John about airgun several times and we've even faxed a few ideas back and forth. He's always been top drawer. I only wish there weren't an ocean separating us as I'd dearly love to shake his hand and treat him to a night on the town. RB
