It'll be fine
...got this from Kranks - it says 220V only in their speel and I quote:
Only to be used in countries that use 220V as standard.
- which I assume is near enough our 230-240V. However it does not come with a plug and I thought all electrical equipment should?
Anyway, I've shoved a plug on. Am I right out mains supply will be ok? Is the 220V specified by Kranks them covering themselves from dodgy US kit?
It'll be fine
..hoped it would be.
Well - here goes :-)

220V is the American voltage, but it will work fine in UK on 240V
Most electrical goods can handle 220v-240v 50-60hz its cheaper to produce one item that can handle a range of voltages rather than many items each handling one voltage, besides (acording to my ups (uninterruptible power supply) for my computer) the uk voltage is between 228v and 245v 49-51 hz

The standard voltage for Europe used to be 220v as opposed to 240v for the UK. That was all changed a few years ago with a standard for the entire EU being 230v.
As far as I'm aware the USA still uses 120v
