this might be interesting for anyone who ownes career, sumatra,ar6 etc

been asked for info about spares , info loads of times about careers sumatras ar6 etc, anyone on the bbs interested in helping, forming some sort of club, forum ,info type website, as spares are getting hard to find, maybee some owners have info about making obsolete parts etc, or have info on tuning etc just an idea at the moment, anyway any interest out there, let me know and see what happens, also interested in getting american owners interested as spares are not a problem over there and a source of spares would be great, if possible!

update: available soon ill be able to get some o ring kits sorted soon, also some airtube rings, fill probes, .25 conversion kits and brass mags, ive also got someone working on custom stock and forestock in walnut, i hope in time to be able to source most things for careers and sumatras, only possible because of the great inventive guys on here the bbs!. still need an american source if anyone over there can/ wants to help us!

    Hi bigjob,

How come the spares are so difficult to get now. I thought the rifles were reasonably popular. Seems strange that the spares are scarce so quickly.

as there no longer imported, spares dried up pretty quick, rangeright have next to no spares left, chambers have a few bits left, but nothing much, o ring sets are still ok for the moment but will stop, i can get a few parts made, but it would be good to see if anyone else had any idears, leads etc

I think that a 'sticky' that gave contacts or sources for spares / repairs for some of the more specialist old airguns would be a valuable resource. I am aware that some posters ask on here about 'who can repair my rifle' etc and they get an answer but a list of available expertise could/would be very useful. Or would it look or be regarded as too much like advertising?
Personally I would be happy to see names and contact details of people who could provide odd bits e.g. pneumatic seals, piston heads and other parts etc for cases where the parts are no longer available from the manufacturers.
    Cheers, Phil

i dont think it would be allowed on here as a sticky. and i would not want to offend anyone or our sponsor, so it would be either word of mouth and or a main contact page with info on etc via the web, i know careers like the back of my hand but there must be others who now more than me, and same for other oddball type rifles, ie sumatras ar6, non mainstream guns, there are forums and info type web sites for other mainstream rifles so it might help owners get the best from there guns

hi mate yes ive got a few kicking about, id want to provide a full strip and rebuild of the guns on the info page, so you would have a heading page career, then any leads contacts etc tips, tuning, and a rifle strip, same format with other odd rifles

    Thumbs up Career Owners Unite!

It would be great to have a dedicated space where Career owners could share information about using and maintaining these brilliant guns, and possibly share costs for projects such as machining a batch of parts that are otherwise impossible to get or buying seals in economic quantities and splitting them to order. This could hopefully be done under the auspices of an existing forum (e.g. this BBS) and it might be an idea to ask the forum sponsor if he would consider this.
I will definitely support the idea of a dedicated space for Career owners.

    Post career

Count me in I have a career carbine I have no idea where to get spares other than tr robb. Sumatra's are now being imported and I've been told that some parts will fit.
The more I practice the luckier I get

i believe these rifles are available at ford rifle range and are being imported by some one in that area.

i keep hearing whispers about careers and sumatras being imported in, but nothing ever comes of it apart from the odd new one turning up in gunshops now and again,if anyone knows more please tell! someone did tell me that 10 sumatras had been imported and were for sale last month, but i aint seen them yet

on another note if chambers havent got the parts in stock you have a long wait, if at all, been trying without success for a long time

also the ex gunsmith of rangeright (who was the main importer) is a member on here as i brought a lot of stuff through him a few yrs ago, but i cant remember his name, really nice guy, are you still about ?

i dought very much if the info page etc could be run via a sticky on the bbs, perhaps some form of web site type thing encompassing shin sung and euygin/korea type guns would work, anyway ive had a few pms about it and there seems to be a demand, keep the idears coming and any info as well!
