i recovered her from the forgotten and unloved section of collectables ;in proteks so i duly purchased her on the
rebound after missing out on the multi shot haenal ,way out of my pocket sadly.but this old osprey was minus its sights
cycles like new with power on the button;the metalwork although displaying light surface corrosion was easily polished
to a reasonable standard ,out of the stock the underside of the action is as new ;bit unusual as this seems to suffer even more
than the exposed side some times.i gave the refinished stock a very light wire wool rubdown to even out the light/dark staining
and hand washed it in true/oil which bought out a nice rich finish;as a bit of fun they had an old milbro diopter which sits nicely
together with that heavy barrel as a cut price super target.just got to find a nice butt pad to complete! and all for £80 so far
    im well pleased.

umm i may rethink my collection, and focus on webleys or "wembley" guns as a chap said in a shop the other day, with a couple of exceptions most are worth having.

    Hello,

Congratulations on your new purchase. It's always nice to hear of old air guns being brought back to use.

I particularly like the rear sight, as I'm not a fan of telescopic sights and now have aperture sights fitted to some of my vintage air rifles to help compensate for my failing eye sight.

    Regards

    Brian

I can here the sound of people hoping to get rid of RO 71's,72's, and all the other IGI crap crying now
I have heard that ASI paratroopers are good guns that are collectable, easy to work on, robust and easy to get spares for if you should manage to break one

interestingly enough while nosing through the guns and the local shop someone came in with what he discribed as a boxed target pistol;ears perked up and characters shuffled in from the shadows to see what he was offering the proprietor ;the box looked curious enough to get our attention he opened it and several pairs of eyes focused on a mint ro72 deluxe with the shoulder stock fixing; in its original box and paperwork ,there was a simultaneous deflation the disappointment wasnt one sided either as he was of the opinion it was worth a fair bit ,o dear £30 tops
