    Hi,

Thats really weird as with that relatively high Ser No (4549) your Warrior should definitely have the re curved trigger guard.

This is the only plated Warrior I have come across personally, but I'm sure there are more out there somewhere.

    Hi Mick,

After having had a closer look, I tend to agree that the box doesn't look quite right on this example. Still looks quite good value for the pistol alone though. I have a nice Warrior in an original later black and gold box so can't do a direct comparison. I will have to dig out some pictures of the earlier box out of interest.

It just goes to show how careful you need to be when relying on photographs.

    Regards

    Brian

Iv'e just had a quick look at some pictures of the earlier Warrior box and it would appear to show that the label on this box should extend to the outside edges of the box rather than being inset as applied here.

To be fair the seller makes no claims that the box is original.

Out of interest, I believe the changeover from this earlier depicted box label to the later black box occured around Ser No 5000.

    Regards

    Brian

Hi Brian yes thats what thought with the edges also, and the colour didn't quite look right as well.but as you say the seller doesn't say anything about the box.
sorry l can't help with any information on the changeover se/nos but you are proabley right.
    regards,
    Mick.

I would question why the rearsight is also 'nickel-plated', as all the original plated pistols I have seen, whether from Webley, Westley- Richards, or even the little pop outs, invariably always have their rear sights blued. The reason being that a plated rear sight would reflect or produce glare.
When pistols are re-plated then the rear sights are invariably always plated as well, always a good guide as to whether the plating is original or not.
