Exclamation Sussex Interclub HFT 2013 Round 3 - RESULTS

    Hi All

No garden centre to distract me today, though I did stay around after the shoot – just nattering (as one does).

BIG thanks to the Oakies and their nasty little breezy spot among the Downs. Still (almost) unable to believe that I got fooled by lane 1 (my last shot), convinced that it was a reduced scale target at only 30 yards. Twit !! Major apologies to my two partners, both of which I suspect listened to my ramblings.

Here are the full results – in the usual format – and with the usual request to PM me if you believe you spot any errors or omissions.

Team Results – a good turn-out for all clubs, especially Iden Ferns with no fewer than eighteen players to choose from to give them an in-round team winning total. Even Swallows managed to field 8, including young Alex with a gun he’s only had for a couple of weeks. As we’re now up to the dizzy heights of 3 rounds to report, I will show ALL the team scores from each round and the totals.

    Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Total
    Buxted 289 276 267 832
    Oaks 285 271 270 826
    Iden Fern 278 267 274 819
    Horsham 280 267 266 813
    Ford 269 256 258 783
    Swallows 243 212 231 686

Unless I’ve managed to get their names the wrong way round (I’m sure you’ll tell me), our bonus bunny winner, going home £36 better off, was Keith Crawley and Mick Foster walked away with a very fine Air Arms ‘goody bag’.

We now look forward to Round 4, due to be hosted in two weeks time by Horsham Hawks on Sunday 9th June. Hope to see a bunch of you there.

    Well done Mike, very efficient!

Thanks Oakies, great course, a belter Sorry for bending Rudy's ear all the way - I got the impression that the chip joke may just have been stretched one potato too far

I shot well in the field where it was windy and badly in the woods where it was less so. Go figure.

Posh Charles, you are my hero, I said "good shot Charles" so many times today I might have it tattooed on my forehead to save breath...

Ermm, it was a reference to Ford when he gave his leftover chips to Simmmy when I had already called dibs on them. I was sooo upset I may just have mentioned it once or twice today

Thanks biggels and Charles (must come up with a nickname for you Charles)
And last but not least Mr.beardy.

And a big thanks to the oaks for a superb course today
Would have cleared it if not for that dam wind and
    My shooting abilities
And the grass in the way
And my shooting partner talking so much
And the people next to us
    Etc. etc. etc.

    But still enjoyed every shot.

    See you at Horshan

Thankyou Oaks-a really great, tough course-plenty to think about out there. If the wind had really shown up, it would have been a killing field
Utmost respect to anyone that hit 55 and over today-hard earned indeed

    Cheers Oakies

Thanks Oakies, another great course with mixture of "bloody hell" to "OMG" target.

    Had great fun.

It was much harder, not to mention cooler to shoot a 50!...all the top shots got 50...
Couldn't shoot properly as everybody kept talking about me...my doctor says i'm paranoid...well he didn't actually say it but i know he was going to...

I am shooting total spongepants so i am going to be fishing for a fish as big as me for a few months!.....cue libellous innuendo's etc...

Last but not least, i would like to profess my undying love for all my Oakies! They are the real heroes! XX

Thanks to everyone for helping / turning up and shooting etc. and for great company from Rudy (just for once kind enough not to thrash me) , Richard (don't mention chips), Kate (every group needs an official scorer) and Paul (spent the week strimming so we could all see where we were going today).
Any chance it wont be raining in two weeks for Horsham?.....

Well ....... according to Metcheck it will be :

    Sun 9 Jun 0:00 5:59 14 °c 14 °c 1026 mb 97 % 0.0 mm 6 % 2 mph
    6:00 11:59 10 °c 20 °c 1026 mb 90 % 0.0 mm 42 % 1 mph
    12:00 17:59 27 °c 29 °c 1027 mb 64 % 0.8 mm 12 % 1 mph
    18:00 23:59 27 °c 24 °c 1027 mb 78 % 3.1 mm 5 % 6 mph

If you can translate that it appears to be suggesting no cloud and as good as no wind, but very humid and with temp by midday rising to 20c, then soaring to nearly 30c during the mid afternoon.

    Horsham SiHFT and the rain

Not much chance, Charles, you know how we Hawks like the rain and holding a Somme re-enactment rather an an HFT course.. Thanks to the Oakies for a great day out. Really enjoyed myself (and not being beaten by my son again made it even better!)
Look forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks time.
