Thread: Help ID an old Rifle

    Hi,

    It's not a Sniper which was a completely different looking (I am being polite) air rifle. I can remember being asked to repair a Sniper in '73 or '74 and refusing after stripping it down. I think this was part of the range and so it dates from the late 60's. or early 70's.

    It looks like a sniper to me..I had one when I was 13, my first air rifle.

    They were still making the sniper in the late 70s I remember seeing them in the ads in AGW,my money's still on it being a sniper.

    From memory I'd hazard a guess at it being a Sniper, too.

    Thanks for all the posts from the diagrams and pics I've seen I'd say it's a sniper/expo so I'll be ordering parts for it. New spring breech seal and piston seal. Already sanded the stock ready for a new coat of varnish. Should have good as new shortly.

    Hi,

    Well, to this old git the botom one of the four shown in someone's photo is a Sniper. I've spent some time looking for ASI's files but guess I threw them out, because I'm sure I had a 4 page brochure showing it as a Sniper...

    Parts have arrived

    Hi, just wondering if anyone has ever replaced a piston seal on a sniper i ordered one from Chambers and it's a little different to the old one. Heres a pic of the two.
