Sussex Interclub HFT 2013 Round 4 - RESULTS

    Hi All

What a tricky little course set by our friends at Horsham Hawks; especially those targets which must have kept the club’s one-n-only extreme tree climber busy (you know who you are – Steve ).

And what a huge turn-out too. I’ll need to check back over some of our previous seasons’ records to see if/when we have ever topped 91 starters. This included small coach loads from Iden Fern and Mile Oak, each club fielding no fewer than 20 competitors. I dunno … what’s the world coming to when Buxted get pushed in to 3rd place (just 19 today).

Lucky I suppose with the weather, for which at least the rain was kind enough to stay away – a rare event for Horsham in recent years – and even the breeze didn’t blow as hard as some forecasters predicted.

A very proud day for me too as, while we continued to hang on by the skin of our teeth to 6th place in the team contest, Swallows not only fielded 8 players, 4 of which are very new to the sport, but we managed a handful of PBs, 6 badges and 4 of our team scoring 50+. Go Swallows FTC!!

A grand day out all round

Here are the full results – in the usual format – and with the usual request to PM me if you believe you spot any errors or omissions.

Lucky winners of our ‘be-there-to-win’ drawer prizes were Simon Williams whose name was first out the hat (bag) taking away the higher than usual cash prize of £46. 2nd was Steve Light winning the Air Arms ‘goodie bag’. The BIG question is - will Si invest the cash in the bottom half of his trousers?

We now look forward to Round 5, after a somewhat longer than usual break, to be hosted by Buxted on Sunday 7th July. Hope to see a bunch of you there and, no doubt, a few at the UKAHFT at Bisley on the 30th June.

Well done Mike for putting up the results so quickly, well done Spongey for an awesome score on a very tricky course, how the heck did you do that?

Hawks, great course, the sky's the limit! Very clever target placement, I got the ranges wrong several times - must try harder.
