Sussex Interclub HFT 2013 Round 5 - RESULTS

Hi All　

Wow; what a hot one. And I am, of course, talking about the weather rather than the shooting. Hot shots were the exception rather than the rule today, with way above average scores for the 3 (yes, just a meagre THREE) Gold badge winners. And the average was waaay down there, among the lowest ever seen at a SIHFT series shoot – even Silver and Bronze badges were difficult to come by.　

And, of course, all the badge winners went home empty handed and will have to hang on to their £2 coins until we meet again at the Oaks, thank to yours truly’s brain overlooking the need to pack them in the car. That lapse was combined with forgetting to pick up my shooting jacket – which almost certainly explains my pretty awful result. I’m sure it had nothing whatsoever to do with miss-ranging or hoicking the trigger on the free stander, to be followed by the dull sound of lead on wood. Doh !!! 　

The scores and medals (or lack of them) must reflect a course which, in practice, proved much tricksier that it’s setters intended or expected, especially with the lack of a significant breeze. Well done Buxted – great fun – though not entirely leading to the team result you had, I’m sure, hoped for (see below).

Remember that it’s after you’ve entered results in 6 rounds that you begin to drop your lowest scores and the individual championship finally begins to take shape. As we are not yet at that stage this year, I am going to delay publishing (on the SIHFT website) the full tables. Sorry if this decision upsets some of our pot hunters.

I knew there was a reason that I shot at the Hobbit shire and it was not for the amount of targets I killed more the amount that I merely wounded...

I think Sam needs to be drug tested ....Or just drugged or something....

I was robbed a point by your 'so called' Wood experts...who can tell the sound of wood from metal at 300 paces, not only was it definitely wood but 'Soft' wood!...... Still didn't stop us beating ya!!
