However, I wonder if it is worth considering what type of person would operate in such a manner and then telephone the police himself while he is on bail for a same or similar offence ?

Problem is, no matter how long he gets put away for, he will be back to his old tricks as soon as he gets out again.

No, not the same person. The one flogging fishing gear and gas canisters (and shown in the Facebook link) is the brother, Stephen. I met him once for an evening of lamping. Had no idea at the time that he was one of the infamous pair.
