Cocking the hammer should make it a lot easier.

Lighter can be tricky - if you make the hammer spring lighter you can end up chasing your tail balancing it out with the valve spring. I drove myself round the bend doing this with my 1911. A better option is to fettle and lube the trigger to make it smoother, which most of the time will solve your problem.
Here is an excellent guide we keep over on the UBC: http://umarexboysclubforum.myfinefor...hp?f=25&t=2309
As above though, cocking the hammer first will also help... How old is your daughter?

Thanks for replies..I will get My daugther to cock hammer first to see if that helps if not I get it serviced as Ive never taken it apart so dont want to damage it doing it myself.

If you did want it tuned Phil Baker is the man for Umarex pistols and is in the West Midlands, I know several who have had pistols tuned by him. Not expensive at all.
