I use Vector Optics Sentinel 6-24x in my .25 100M BR gun, it has it's drawbacks but it does the job allowing me to spot holes in the paper.
Nikko sterling / Hawke do great value quality scope, Nikko I simply prefer for light transmission.

hi ihave 2 falcon menace as new first focal plane which i will sell via the forum. b20 recticle. if any interest.
Can't go wrong with a Hawke Vantage 6x24-50. Great company with no quibble warranty work if needed.
For £300 you should be able to get a good 2nd hand Nikko Sterling Diamond 10-50x60 Mk1 (black turrets) or even a Mk2 (green turrets). These are proven pedigree FT scopes, used by FT world champions (Jack Harris won 2016 and 2017 world FT chps with the big Nikko).

I have two Hawke Vantage SF 6-24x44's. I only shoot them on springers and mostly over 100 metres. Very sturdy scopes with glass as good as the Sidewinders.
Of the 18 shooters for our next 100 metres spring match 5 shooters use this exact scope. Including the champion of 2017.
Bushnell elite 6500
I suspect the OP is sorted by now

I own a Sidewinder and don't target shoot. Target scopes are so focus fussy and all that massive magnification! Huge lumps of glass and mechanics! The Sidewinder is big enough.
But if I was to target shoot and want to compete then I'd have to have the precise range finding ability and have to use one of the more dedicated target scopes.
You really are tied to the specifications that your target shooting discipline demands. And then you need to master the techniques to get it all to work in one tac driving combo.
Ask the questions. Take the advice. Focus on what is important and then ensure you get what will do the job. Or you will only have to do it later.
Buying the kit that the competitive shots are using is the first step, but how you use it makes you the champion. To compete you do need quite specialised basic kit to start with. I'm afraid thats how its goes today, no short cuts.
I use a Hawke Airmax 4-16 out to 60yds at my range no probs with my Redwolf.
Hello,
Have you tried the FFP Discovery scopes, slightly over budget, but great build quality for the money.
I have tried 8 different scopes under £500 this year, it was by far the best...

Joe
Well, the OP might already have bought a scope, then sold scope and airgun, and is metal detecting on the beach -- who knows...?
However, for those who are clicking on this link to get more info on long range scopes, here's a Scope Specs Table, for scopes with at least 20x magnification on the top end (and 6x or less on the bottom end).
To qualify for this table, the scopes had to fulfill the following requirements:
$500 or less, give or take
10 yard minimum side parallax
Holdoff reticule
Exposed turrets
The specs include:
▪Maximum elevation adjustment range
▪Sorted into FFP or SPF (incl. SPF calibration)
▪Reticle type and mil or moa, reticle line thickness
▪Turret type, mil or moa, and clicks per revolution
▪Price
▪Warranty
▪Illumination or not
▪Weight
▪Length
Happy scope shopping!

I don't know why I can't attach any files at AirgunBBS, all other airgun forums allow me to attach PDFs and JPGs.... So, here's a link to another airgun forum where I posted the Scope Specs Table:
