no just get in to all the places you can with a small brush, then when dry oil/spray (don't be a scrooge with the oil) work the action a few times to work the oil in, wipe off excess oil (using this cloth give the gun a once over) you will get to know how often to strip the trigger to clean, i would start at every 6-7 "mini cleans" do one major strip and clean
maybe tac or one of the other more experienced bp shooters could do a piece on cleaning bp gunsalthough ive shot bp for over 10 years ive only had my own one for a few years now (i was shooting a friends gun at the range)
