Stupid question but the barrel cannot move can it? Is it loose in the block?

No it's fine. Everything has been checked out last week, and to all intents and purposes, it's fine.
After a clean, it'll do 60-100 shots pellet on pellet, then have a funny half hour. Clean it again, (it seems to accumulate muck very quickly as the pull throughs are really dirty), and it's fine again. Must be the barrels internal surface. I'm going to try to "shoot through" without cleaning and see if it "leads up" as such and comes back on.

I was suprised to read on the bumff from Air Arms in the Napier kit. It says to keep barrels in good order, clean every 250 or so shots.
