Sussex Interclub HFT 2013 Round 9 - RESULTS

    Hi All

Big thanks to the Buxted crew for putting on yet another great course – the 3rd in 2 Sundays on the trot, after the Air Arms ‘do’ last weekend. Putting out two tough courses at Northall CPC didn’t deter them from doing it again at home today.

There may not have been nasty lanes out in the fields today, but plenty of tricksy ones hidden in the woods; especially that wretched thing up the pole which we had to wave at while entirely unsupported and just two feet on the slippery ground. I’ve yet to trawl all the cards to count the doughnuts that lane produced, but my pellet will remain in the wooden backstop for a while. Doh!

Here are the full results – in the usual format – and with the usual request for you to PM me if you believe you spot any errors or omissions.

Two new Platinum badges awarded today – to Lord of Buxted (Simmmo) and yours truly. Very well done us.

Team Results – Oakies back on top today, led from the front by Lady Byford with a day-winning 59 and helping to stretch their lead over Buxted by a couple of points to a total of 15. Can the gap be bridged in the final round??

Winners of today’s drawer prizes were Peter Goodwin – collecting the £29 bonus bunny – and Lewis Hodges taking home the Air Arms donated goodie bag.

The final (10th) competition round of the 2013 SIHFT is now 3 weeks away, being hosted by Swallows FTC on Sunday 6th October. Don’t miss it, as – with perhaps the exception of 1st places in the Open and Junior Class individual championships (and even these could be ‘adjusted’ with major nobbling !!) there are places to play for. Today’s superb result from Chris Roberts has seen him leapfrog Pat to take over the top slot in Recoiling, but this could easily swap back again. Fun! Fun! Fun!

And finally, a reminder for those of you present at today’s end-of-shoot session and new news for the rest …… we announced that the 2013 SIHFT Grand Finale scheduled for the 27th October is to be hosted by Cutthroat and the crew at Ford HFT. As well as the SIHFT trophies and shield, make absolutely sure you’re there or risk missing out on some fantastic draw prizes. In addition to a brand new Air Arms gun, we will be adding some cash/voucher prizes too. Names in the hat (we’ll need a big one, Richard, please) will be ALL of you who have entered 6 or more of this year’s SIHFT rounds – but you have to be at Ford on the 27th to win.

Yee hah. I was one of the five. Hoorah, suddenly it is all worthwhile. I swear my eyes were shut when I pulled the trigger. Maybe I should try that more often

Also very noticeable is that only one of those getting it ended with a top score (Swallows FTC's own Steve Noakes, with a Biggles-beating 56). All (all 4 ) of the others scored 50 or lower.
