    Haenel orange paint

I have just purchased a Haenel 310, the orange painted stock is a bit ropey. Does anyone know of the right stuff to re -finish this stock.

The 'Haenel red' paint is not easy to reproduce, if that's what you want to do. Some of their later guns had what is more of a light orange coloured almost transparent varnish which can be recreated with oils and lacquer, but the original effect is not easy. I've tried to little effect. Sanding down and staining the stock can produce a nice effect.

Actually looks much better than original finish!
