Cool Sussex Interclub HFT 2013 - Round 10 Results

    Hi All

Massive thanks to all the crew at Swallows FTC who helped in pre-prep for today, plus setting-out, taking in and, of course, to our ‘remote’ marshals (the Gellicoes - Chairman Gerry and biker Stuart) who looked after the hangar road traffic throughout the shoot. And finally to Kerry and Mike for cooking and serving your food. Thanks too to those visitors who turned up and helped with the marquee erection (always fun!) and putting out something to aim at on the zero/plinking range.

Wasn’t ‘proper’ Swallows FTC weather today – far too hot and sunny and far far too little breeze

It can only have been this which led Spongey to doing what Sam started at the beginning of this year’s SIHFT series – daring to clear a course. Well done Mikey – I expect you deserved it

Worthy of special note were the results from our back-to-basics boinger shooters. Chris with his 56 and 55s from Pat and Dave Walden has to be pretty exceptional. And we had 3 others achieving over 50. Good shooting chaps.

A lowish turnout for our final round, probably down to the extent of Mile Oak’s lead in the team challenge, but here are the full results – in the usual format – and with the usual request for you to PM me if you believe you spot any errors or omissions.

Four last-minute Platinum badges (sneaking their 5th Gold badge win just in time) awarded today – to Jon Fairman, Pat Fitzgerald, Philip Jacobs and Chris Roberts. Very well done guys.

Team Results – Round 10 means that today’s result gives the final standing … and the Oakies proved uncatchable. To save space and typing, here are just today’s scores and the grand totals.

    Round 10 Total
    Oaks 288 2756
    Buxted 276 2729
    Iden Fern 272 2708
    Horsham 278 2679
    Ford 268 2521
    Swallows 265 2377

Winners of today’s draw prizes were Darren Hynes – collecting the £30 bonus bunny – and Mike Byford (as if a clearance wasn’t enough for him ) winning the Air Arms donated goodie bag.

Our end-of-series celebration event and trophy giving will be at Ford HFT in 3 weeks on Sunday 27th October, prior to which I will publish here – and on the SIHFT web site - the FULL table showing all positions achieved in all classes for the individual championships.

Cutthroat will undoubtedly be posting detail of the challenge he has plans for that day – rumour is that you should leave your UKAHFT rule book at home

Whether or not you have won a trophy or been a member of the Oaks’ winning team, DO make sure you’re there. We will be including a triple (at least) prize draw of a nice new Air Arms rifle and high value monetary prizes too. Your name will be in the hat if you have shot in at least 6 rounds of this year’s SIHFT series … but your luck will be OUT if you’re not there when your name is called (ask Derek!! )

The number on your score card and look on your face said it all
