    Daisy Red Ryder

How do they do it for the money?
Wood and metal multi shot rifle that is great fun and an icon?

    Gingernut having second childhood again.

Unfortunately I notice that there are many special editions!

I have had one for donkeys years , it lives in the garage. I passed it on to my grandson when he was 10 y.o., now he is 20 and has other 'interests' so he gave it me back. It still shoots as hard as the day it left the factory, with just a few drops of oil every once in a while.
    Talk about value for money.
I also have the model 25 Centennial, now that is a thing of beauty.

I also have one which I brought back from the states , and in my wife's suitcase still don't know how I got away with that one!!!

I love it, 650 Bbs I think it holds which makes it nice and heavy on aim.

I did alittle tunning to mine, tinkered with the trigger to get it a lot lighter and also polished and debuted the barrel/tube as I noticed the ball flight was always veering to the left and this sorted it out, as the barrel /tube on min was a piece of tin? Which was moulded to make the tube shape so had a very slight join which seemed to have an affect on the ball as it was blasted out at the massive power of 3ft or maybe less (can't remember now)

Love shooting little 2by 2 inch pieces of wood off my flower bed wall from 10 yards in 5 yard intervals out to 25 yards!

    Love it!
    Would never part with it!

I have a few spare shot tubes knocking about, I will have a look later today to see if one fits a 25. If I don't get back to you send me a pm. ( I have a lousy memory).

    Might go Marlin as well.
Took the RR to the range today.
Damn accurate up to 10 m and ok a bit further but runs out of puff.
But does what it says on tin and operates well.

No co2 to annoy and a manual that puts expensive PCP manufacturers to shame!

Now what is 20 weight motor oil?

20 Weight Motor Oil is a straight mineral engine oil from the days before mutigrade. Bit thin for UK use most would use a straight 40 in summer and change to a straight 30 for winter.

The last time I used 20W motor oil was in the chaincase of a Triumph 500.

    Thanks Andrew.
It is the required lube for this gun.
Thin household oils will not do! Says the manual.

3 in 1 sell sae 20 in the usual small sizes. Try fleabuy or good garden machine/electric motor/compressor workshop. Take your own can.

Gingernut, don't use one of those modern fully synthetic engine oils, it might take it over the limit....
