The one I have is beech and IIRC was a model only imported into the U.K. in limited numbers and for a very short period.

Two questions regarding HW35. First up, was the thumbhole stock made in walnut or beech? and was this a HW ltd edition? Regards Mach 1.5

Thanks I.J...Regards Mach 1.5
I sold mine, very low combe, open sights only due to drop angle too, was a beech only factory run as far as I know
I have a HW brochure from 1974 that shows the thumbhole stock as an option, not as an actual rifle fitted with one.
The rifle in question: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Airs...ml?sort=6&o=49

heres some info :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HW_35
The HW35 Lochshaft was made from around 1975/76 with no safety button ,then with a single sided safety button and finally with the "normal" double sided safety button.
I have got a catalogue from 1990 still advertising the HW35LS
But these where not very common in Germany or Holland ,almost just as rare as a HW35 Safari.
One HW35LS with no safety and one with the single sided safety:
One early HW35 Safari (1984) and the last version HW35 Safari that left the factory in 2010.
(The actual HW35 Safari that WAS the last one to leave the factory was ordered by me, BUT it arrived with a broken stock and other damages to the gun )
