The Canadian can is an example of the first post-war Webley oil can which was quickly followed by the second series with the spout being re-located to one side. The final post-war can was similar to the second series but had a reversible spout which was stored inverted within the can itself. The rarest of the three post-war cans is the reversible spout series, but pre-war 'Valvespout' cans are even rarer and can fetch £300-£400 on the few occasions they come up for sale. Webley replaced cans with an orange plastic alternative in late sixties which somehow never seemed to have the same appeal.
I would have expected the Canadian can in the condition shown to have at least reached the same price as the one just sold here.
