If it is in the right condition then someone has a very nice classic scope to compliment a classic rifle. No the glass isn't probably worth £123 but then what glass can you get new for that; its not as if its bad glass. Optimas look the biz on HW35, 35E's, 80's, 77's, Original 45's and Sports.
Again, mint vintage rifles are pretty common; period scopes that are in mint condition, or at least excellent, are much harder to find. £123 to get the right scope is not too high a premium. A well used Optima would be 1/2, if that.
Just paid £205 plus £55 import for a 3-12 x 40 OA B&L mint scope (have one already and like it big time). An equivalent Bushnel 6500 second hand would be over £350 plus plus. Now need a £550 classy period rifle for it
