A wee warning for happy(is there any other kind) collectors

I've had an INDIAN air pistol sitting on the wall of my toy room since 1998.
Took it down for a shoot and found the"black stuff"-plastic,forming vital parts, has deteriorated. In fact the gun stuck to my hands and made them all black!
This gun won't last 50 years without quite a bit of 'modding"!

Is it possible a previous owner "cleaned" the plastic with T-Cut?

I know that dissolves some plastics over time.

Is it a Cometa Indian? I've had one for getting on for ten years and it's fine at the moment...

Seems like you got one of the new EU approved eco-friendly biodegradable airguns.

You reminded me that I have one of them. Mine is as good as when bought (forget when) but kept in it's plastic case.
