    Thumbs up

I called in earlier with my son for a mosey round there is some lovely stuff there, the place looks a nice set up. I've got my eye out for a rammer at the mo and didn't see any but did pick up some genuine Molykote for a few quid.
    Regards,
    Dave.

Dispite being 200 miles from England, I found the locals very hospitable, especially the girl in the village tea room. She tempted me with her firm fresh baps, but I managed the all day special...

A short wander back up the road and there you are in Melbourne, the accents were a bit different to what I was expecting, sort of pigeon English with the odd 'me ducks' thrown in.

There was at least 150 rifles and 50 pistols on sale, something for everyone, did I buy anything? I hear you ask.. No not really, just an Imp Mod 'B' in exceptional condition with sight protector and in its original BSA slip Oh and a box of .25 Webley pellets

Would I go again? Oh yes, if only to get that cup of tea owed to me by Walnutfarm Mick, Yorkshire men eh

Well done and thank you to all concerned

A very pleasant way to spend a saturday.

Came home with a medal and cup for the pre war bell target...there was only 2 of us, but he had 2 goes And he's done it before...not so easy when someone's watching.
Definitely time I sorted my front sight and a bit more poke wouldn't hurt, I'm sure I clipped 2, a little more power might have rung the bell. One of the table holders was shooting their Model D later and seemed to be hitting much harder than mine... better shot too. Thank you for letting me see how nice and crisp you'd made the sight picture on your D. I believe he also had a very reasonably priced ladies on his table. I thought it a little "twee" but maybe something I'll want to add to my collection later.
I ended up picking up a lovely old cadet ...for pocket money... and a useful work/sighting clamp

A very good opportunity to learn not only about bell target, but also my own taste in air rifles. I'm pretty sure I prefer rifles that are older than me and that's what I think I'll concentrate on.

I really like the collection of AirArms side levers, some lovely carbines. But for that sort of thing I think I prefer a new TX or Prosport

Looked at allsorts, there were plenty of really nice guns to choose from. It was very nice to get hands on with a webley mk2, lovely piece of engineering, but a bit too rich for me today. Soon though definitely.

The biggest lesson learnt though??? Get there early!!! I know for next time Missed a couple of .177 airsporters and a standard.. Never mind there's always tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone at Melbourne Marksmen for making us feel welcome and putting on a great day, looking forward to the next one!!.

    some pics

Many thanks to all those who attended today. It was a pleasure to see everyone and to meet the BBS members who made the trip

This was our biggest and best Fayre to date with a huge choice of collectable air guns

We only just managed to squeeze everyone in this time and apologies if it was a bit tight particularly in the bring and buy area.

I think we will use the stage area as well next time and run our bell target Open Competitions on a separate date to give more room to sellers.

Below are a few pictures of air guns for sale on the day and hopefully Pete (Dunks) will be along shortly with some better shots.
Thanks to Mac for running the Open Bell target competition and for the use of his computer equipment. Winners will be published by Mac.

The star raffle prize of a side lever AA rifle was won by a gentleman who left early. We have his telephone number and we will be in touch

Thanks to Paul who donated this prize and to Binners who has donated a rifle for our next Fayre which will be held hopefully this Summer.

Twas a good day out for sure. Nice to have a rabbit to ....walnutfarmick, micky,edbear2, grezoor, wonky donky, torrens and many more. I sold 2 rifles and 2 pistols plus loads of bits ,and bought for myself a lovely Walther Winchester carbine.
Our hosts did a great job of looking after us. I can't wait until the next one.

I'm not long home from Melbourne having had a most enjoyable day. I've seen a lot, learnt a lot, had a number of interesting conversations* and can put faces to names but think my crowning achievement was luring Binners (and his wallet) back at a later date by an unfulfilled promise of a cup of tea.

Sincere thanks to all the organisers and attendees. I'm already looking forward to the next one.

I missed the first fayre but a friend and myself went today and really enjoyed the afternoon. Everybody friendly and more than willing to help with enquiries and to let prospective buyers try an Airgun on the little bell target range. My mate aquired a rifle and I located a nice little pistol. So much to choose from and a nice venue. A bar and food for sale as well.
Thanks to the organizers and everyone who attended with all the goodies for sale. Certainly look forward to the next one.

Yes well organised day & nice to see so many people there. Great to see that 1920's Titan pistol. There were some bargains there, a few that caught my eye were a BSA Ladies Pattern for £100, a prewar Diana for £80, a little Gem for £55. There were good few early fluted Webley MK3's & Airsporter Mk1/ MK2's.
I bought an Anschutz 275 & did get a laugh when I asked Chris if he had 4.4mm balls

    Unhappy

I'm absolutely gutted that I couldn't get there

I was supposed to be doing some work on my sons car, his mates sisters garage was the place I was doing it but when we were about to set off he got a call from his mate, his siters car was in it with a broken roadspring and had collapsed so we couldn't do it after all

I could have gone down after all

Hope everyone had a great time, I'm going to make sure I get to the next one- everyone can take a running jump!!

    Ha ha ha!!

If Chris hadn't got small, shiny brass coloured ones then Protek do!! I once bought some for my Mod275 or if you know anyone that loads their own shotgun cart's, beg some BB size shot from them as that's why these guns were made in the odd calibre!!

Sounds like it was a great day. Events for airgun collectors are to be welcomed and I congratulate everyone in the Melbourne Marksmen for organising it. I am sorry that I missed it because of being at the British Shooting Show all weekend but I hope to attend any airgun collectors's fairs held anywhere, anytime in the future.
