Brrrrrrrrr! It was a crisp cool 5 degrees this morning as we started assembling with a hint of drizzle. Thankfully the grey clouds started to clear as the kick off whistle approached, though this may have had something to do with the gusting wind that then appeared.
It was a Cambridge rules course today, so no limitations on distance and kill sizes. There was only one proper long ‘un, but plenty of “oh-my-god-that’s-really-small” to contend with. The 8mm disc up the tree looked like a comfortable 20mm killzone until you scoped it up and realised that you’d been looking at all the splatter. Add in a gusting and changeable wind and it made for a satisfyingly challenging course as you’ll see from the scores.
It was a fantastic and resounding win by Becky Rawlings with a points clear 53.
In a slightly smaller competition niche Keith W racked up win no.2 in the “Phoenix Challenge”. I am pulling back. Slowly. He only beat me by 6 this time. Best of 5 then eh?
