    Yep tried it again and i don't know whats happening with it but it now focusses at 10ft with a tiny gap

    Bugger - looks like i've broke it

    ...more likely the lens carrier is moving independently of the outer ring...try loosening it, you may be pleasantly surprised... I've done 5 of these with no issue.

    Nope the lens carrier thing isn't moving until i move the outer ring???

    then I'm confused Try putting it back to where you started and see where it focuses ?
