Bushnell 3200 10x40 re-parrallax??

I've unscrewed the front ring by around 2mm - now the scope focusses at around 7ft???

Not really sure what i'm doing to be honest - have i done it wrong???

You've just done it too far

My "gap" was less than a mm. I unscrewed to about 1mm (PX about 20 yards), put in the tight / narrow o-ring, tightened back up to reduce gap down to 0.7mm (estimated), PX ~ 30 yards, job done.

Yep tried it again and i don't know whats happening with it but it now focusses at 10ft with a tiny gap

...more likely the lens carrier is moving independently of the outer ring...try loosening it, you may be pleasantly surprised... I've done 5 of these with no issue.
