I just unscrewed the front ring on mine and fitted a butler creek to stop it moving. Others sometimes fit an 'O' ring in the gap.
yup. I do the o-ring; tightened up against the o-ring really tight, stuck a bit of tape around it to stop any chance of movement, and then put the butler creek on. Good scopes for the money, I've a few of them.
I've unscrewed the front ring by around 2mm - now the scope focusses at around 7ft???
Not really sure what i'm doing to be honest - have i done it wrong???

Yep tried it again and i don't know whats happening with it but it now focusses at 10ft with a tiny gap
Bugger - looks like i've broke it

Hi Daz
Not wrong exactly; you've just wound the front ring out too far. Wind it back in.
I re-parallax like this.
Set out a target at your chosen zero. A simple crosshair "+" works well.
Adjust the reticle so that it's crisp and clear.
This next bit is usually easier with the scope removed from the rifle, and using a beanbag.
Wind the front ring out A BIT AT A TIME until the target is in focus. Now move your head about a bit [but
without moving the scope, of course] and adjust the front ring a bit at a time until the reticle stays
stationary over the +. You have now removed parallax error at that range.
Butler Creeks or whatever to lock, and job done!

Have wound it in fully until the outer ring is tight and it now focusses at around 15ft
Wish i hadn't touched it now
Might have to use it as a .308 target
