    Hi Daz

Not wrong exactly; you've just wound the front ring out too far. Wind it back in.

    I re-parallax like this.

Set out a target at your chosen zero. A simple crosshair "+" works well.

Adjust the reticle so that it's crisp and clear.

This next bit is usually easier with the scope removed from the rifle, and using a beanbag.

Wind the front ring out A BIT AT A TIME until the target is in focus. Now move your head about a bit [but
without moving the scope, of course] and adjust the front ring a bit at a time until the reticle stays
stationary over the +. You have now removed parallax error at that range.

Butler Creeks or whatever to lock, and job done!

Have wound it in fully until the outer ring is tight and it now focusses at around 15ft

Wish i hadn't touched it now

Might have to use it as a .308 target

Did you buy it new Daz ? What range was it PX'd to originally (should be 100 yards). I'd wind it right out and then back again, see if anything changes.

    Hi Daz

Look again at Jon Budd's 08:58 post. I think that that's the only explanation.

Try this. Unscrew the outer ring by say one turn.

Then, VERY carefully, using something that won't do any damage [ wooden or plastic toothpick, cut-down
credit card, or even your fingernail ] engage in the lens carrier slot[s] and try to move the lens carrier
    independently of the outer ring.

If it does move independently, then that's good! You won't need Butler Creeks after re-parallaxing!

    HTH h j [I REALLY wouldn't wind it right out !!]

I can't get the inner thing to move at all - even pushing on it.

Looks like the "quick job" has knackered my scope

I was having a similar problem with my Bushnell.

I finally got it to focus beyond 15 m by removing the O ring and screwing the Ocular bell in further.

Very puzzling: but if it's any comfort, I can't believe that the little bit of winding in and out that you've
done can possibly have damaged it permanently.

Maybe tomorrow will bring some fresh ideas?

    Courage, mon ami!

    Goodnight Daz.
