    No, not that far (as it will prob leak the gas), just a good way, then back..

    Very puzzling: but if it's any comfort, I can't believe that the little bit of winding in and out that you've
    done can possibly have damaged it permanently.

    Maybe tomorrow will bring some fresh ideas?

    I agree, hence my enquiry about it;s provenance.. but I'm out of ideas

    I was having a similar problem with my Bushnell.

    I finally got it to focus beyond 15 m by removing the O ring and screwing the Ocular bell in further.
