    .177

If you mean air, all target air pistol is 4.5mm (.177), if you mean .22RF, pistols, which other than those over a prescribed length are banned in the UK. If you mean long barreled or free pistol (also over the length by the use of attached bars) then you should consult the NSRA.

If you mean air, all target air pistol is 4.5mm (.177),
Not quite, the use of .22 air pistols is approved NSRA Rules for 20 yard pistol competitions. All targets are scored using a .22 gauge so there is no disadvantage in using a .177 air pistol. For 10m competition then the calibre is restricted to .177 and the pistol will normally comply with ISSF Rules.

    9.2 PISTOLS

9.2.1 Pistols used in competitions under NSRA rules must conform with one of the following:

9.2.1.1 any pistol (single shot, semi-automatic or revolver) chambered for the 5.6 mm (.22 in) rimfire cartridge,
barrel length including the cylinder, not exceeding 254 mm (10 in); sights may be adjustable but not over
254 mm (10 in) apart. The trigger must support 1 kg (2.2 lb) weight; or

9.2.1.2 any type of compressed air or CO2 pistol calibre not exceeding 5.6 mm (.22 in) and of dimensions not
exceeding those in Rule 9.2.1.1. The trigger must support 500 g (1.1 lb) weight; or

9.2.1.3 any air pistol complying with Rule 9.2.3; or

9.2.1.4 any type of muzzle-loading pistol or revolver of 5.6 mm (0.22 in) calibre.

9.2.2 Pistols used in competitions under ISSF or other rules must conform to the specific regulations governing those
    competitions.

9.2.3 Air pistols used in competitions under ISSF rules may be any type of compressed air or CO2 pistol calibre 4.5
mm (.177 in) which conforms with current ISSF regulations.
The targets used for NSRA 20 Yard pistol competitions are PL15 or PL15/09 centres.
